Students & Teachers

We work with students from preschool to graduate school. Bring your class to the CAT for a field trip, or connect with us about ways we can bring the museum to you!

    Student Field Trips

The CAT offers free field trips for student groups on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All tours are led by a museum educator and promote close observation and inquiry-based learning. Due to space constraints, there is a maximum of 45 students per visit. Capacity is limited and at least six weeks’ notice is requested when booking your field trip.

For schools in need of transportation assistance, the CAT will cover the cost of the bus to/from the museum.

    In-Classroom Programs

If a field trip to the museum is not possible, the CAT can come you! In-classroom programs include exhibition-related lessons and an optional Museum Careers presentation that gives students a behind-the-scenes look at who works at the CAT.

Each program is developed in collaboration with the classroom teacher and may be tailored to meet specific curricular goals. We request at least six weeks’ advance notice; availability is very limited. Depending on school location, programs may led virtually.
