The CAT Museum is free and welcomes everyone. Reserve a spot on a guided tour on Thursdays and Fridays, or drop by Friday nights from 5:00pm–8:00pm or Saturdays between 10:00am and 4:30pm. We also host school and community groups and offer engaging programs for all ages. Visit our Events Page to see what’s coming up.

    To book a group larger than 7 on a Thursday or Friday guided tour, please call (612) 359-8991 x118 or email info@thecat.org to schedule.

  • The CAT offers free field trips for student groups on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All tours are led by a museum educator and promote close observation and inquiry-based learning. Due to space constraints, there is a maximum of 40 students per visit. Capacity is limited and at least six weeks’ notice is requested when booking your field trip.

    For schools in need of transportation assistance, the CAT will cover the cost of the bus to/from the museum.

  • Scholars, students, and researchers are welcome to submit inquiries related to works in the collection and materials in the museum’s library. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and access is provided as available.

  • We are located at 4600 Churchill Street, Shoreview MN. Parking is free.

     From 694: Take the exit for Lexington/Hwy. 51 and go north for 1 ½ mile. Turn right on County Rd. G/Hwy. 96, then left on Churchill and right into the south parking lot.

     From 35W: Take the exit for County Rd. G/Hwy. 96 and go east for 2 miles. Turn left on Churchill and then right into the south parking lot.

  • The Cafesjian Art Trust Museum is free to visit and welcomes everyone. We feature one exhibition at a time in our 2000-square-foot gallery space, offering visitors the chance to encounter outstanding modern and contemporary art on a personal level. We host two to three exhibitions each year—so there is always something new to see and enjoy.

  • 4600 Churchill Street, Shoreview, Minnesota. North of 694, near the intersection of Lexington and County Rd. G (Highway 96).

  • Visitors may drop in any time on Friday nights from 5:00pm—8:00pm, and Saturdays from 10:00am—4:30pm.

  • Visitors on guided tours will have access to the gallery for about an hour. Drop-in visitors may stay as long as they wish during open hours.

  • You do not need to present a physical ticket. If you have a reservation for a Thursday or Friday tour, you will check in at the front desk using the name under which the reservation was booked.

  • Museum admission and most programs are free. Special events may require a ticket purchase.

  • We feature one exhibition at a time. To see what is currently on view visit Exhibitions.

  • Yes. Groups of up to 20 can reserve guided tours on Thursdays and Fridays.

  • The museum is not available for private rentals, but it hosts public programs, exhibition openings, and special events throughout the year.

  • Yes—free parking is available directly adjacent to the museum entrance.

  • Food and beverages are not offered at the museum, but there are nearby cafés and restaurants within walking distance including Churchill ST restaurant.

  • There are coat racks available for use; items are left at your own risk. Please no large bags or backpacks.

  • Yes. The museum includes ADA-compliant entrances, restrooms, and common areas, along with a sensory-friendly quiet space for visitors who need it.

  • Yes. The CAT Library is open during drop-by hours and welcomes researchers, students, and artists by appointment.

  • The library is non-circulating; all materials must be used on-site.

  • In some cases, research appointments may be arranged. Please contact the museum to discuss your request.

  • Yes. Visitors of all ages are welcome.

  • Yes—a private space is available upon request, and feeding is welcome throughout the museum.

  • Guide dogs and other trained service animals are welcome at the CAT. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted.

  • The museum may close during severe weather to ensure the safety of visitors and staff.
