During your visit
Accessible restrooms
Public restrooms are accessible and include baby changing stations. A private room for chest feeding or pumping is also available upon request.
Personal attendants
One personal attendant accompanying a visitor with a disability to ticketed events is admitted free of charge.
Service animals
Guide dogs and other trained service animals are welcome at the CAT. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted.
Visitors with limited mobility
Accessible parking
Accessible parking is available near the museum entrance on the south side of the building.
Step-free entry
The museum entrance is barrier-free.
Wheelchairs and mobility devices
Manual and electric wheelchairs are welcome in the museum.
Two wheelchairs are available for visitor use on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Stools
The museum has four portable stools for visitors to use in the gallery.
Visitors with sensory needs
Visitors can prepare for their visit using our Social Narrative. The museum has a small sensory room with a beanbag chair, dimmable lights, fidgets, noise-canceling headphones, and sunglasses available for visitor use.
Visitors who are blind or low vision
Verbal-description tours
Private tours of the current exhibition, including verbal descriptions of artworks, may be scheduled on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Tours may also include touchable interpretive materials related to the exhibition.
Large-print texts
Large-print copies of museum texts are available upon request.
Visitors who are Deaf
ASL interpretation can be arranged for tours with at least two weeks advance notice. To request an interpreter, please call (612) 359-8991 or email info@thecat.org.
Visitors with memory loss
Connections at the CAT is a gallery experience designed for people living with dementia and their care partners. Programs take place on select Tuesday afternoons from 2:00—3:30pm For more information on this program visit our programs page here.
